What our apprentices have to say...

Sayuri
"I feel so grateful for this beautiful Sensory Herb Apprenticeship. It gave me time just for me, to follow my passion for nature and plants. I learned to feel more close with the earth, the seasons, and the magic of herbs. I love to cook and make remedies, and now I feel more confident and joyful playing in my kitchen with herbs. This journey brought me lots of fun, connection, and happiness and what lovely people I met on the course."

Samisi
"Something I've really appreciated is how grounded the Seed Sistas feel to me. They’ve modelled a new way of relating to herbs—one rooted in fun and foremost, letting the learning flow. There’s been no pressure to do everything; everything is by invitation only. If I could have chosen my schooling, it would have been like this. I feel the Seed Sistas approach everything with nuance and an understanding of the importance of love and openness first. Nothing in this journey has been withheld or guarded. Their sharings are generous in spirit, which has taught me so much about practicing with herbs. I’m so grateful to be sent out with this message of sharing and feel really safe in the container they created, as well as with the group of people I’ve started traveling with. I’m really looking forward to what comes next. Thank you so much, Sistas."

Claudia Singer
"Knowledge—this has been an unbelievably enriching growth of my understanding of plants, their constituents, and how to use them to address illness, aches, and imbalances on emotional, physical, and spiritual levels. I love the hands-on making and creating together. I’m incredibly surprised by the power of the rituals involved—there’s real magic in healing. I’ve personally grown so much through this apprenticeship and the presentations. I loved the beautiful, nurturing community and the space you both held."

Olu Jegede
"The Sistas teach in a way that encourages you to engage all your senses, and by the end of the course, I was familiar with a host of herbs, where they grew, what they look like, how they feel, taste, smell, how they interacted with me energetically. I was even on first name basis with some of them!!!
The Sistas with their wealth of experience will take you on a journey which can be challenging and fun in equal measure. I completed the course with a new sense of respect for the Herbiverse!"

Tamzin Merchant
"I came hoping to find kindred spirits and found them in abundance—in both human and plant form. Being part of this joyful group has been an honour and deeply supportive during a dark and difficult time. Being with everyone, feeling safe and truly seen, really healed my relationship with women and the magic of the parts that Sist A’s embody! It has been so inspiring and delightful. Your wisdom is astounding. Thank you, thank you. I came with quite a lot of herbal knowledge already but with big gaps, especially around where magic coexists with science. You’ve woven these together beautifully and inspired me deeply and beautifully."

Wendy Watson
"I have always felt connected to nature. Learning about plants and how they can support us on our journey has been wonderful and fascinating. This course has been a blessing in my life—the way you explore, teach, and share knowledge has been instrumental to my growth. It has helped me understand so much about the “weeds” and more. Thank you for the journey."

Yel
"I'm Yel, I completed the Herbal Apprenticeship in 2023. When I'm not immersed in post-storm sea debris, I enjoy learning about - and foraging - medicinal plants in the UK, using them in juices, salads, teas, poultices and salves for myself and loved ones. Through the Coven, I have access to a wealth of hard-earnt, practical knowledge from a community built around a shared passion for plants and their properties. Both the webinars, led by Seed SistAs Kaz and Fi, and the wider, online community of Coven members are fantastic resources. The online community is such a great thing to have access to when you have a question that isn't a straightforward 'google' away - and with plant medicine, it often isn't. I highly recommend the Coven to anyone looking for support as they bolster their insights and practical skills in all things herb-y."

Mike Mainwaring
"In terms of teaching style the Seed SistAs are able to impart in-depth wisdoms, including their extensive scientific and intuitive knowledge mixed with practical application of identifying, picking herbs and creating medicine with them. We get to draw and really get to know the herbs on an intimate basis. On our year-long sensual journey my relationship with nature deepened, I have come to realise I cannot heal others without looking after myself first. The work is important because the Sistas are engaging with the world on a micro level, working with individuals to heal, and on a macro level by creating change in the environment, respecting the earth and herbs and creating a network of earth lovers working with their communities."

Odette Campbell
"This has been a wonderful journey of self-discovery, helping me to listen and trust my intuition. I always had herbalistic tendencies in my heart, but now they have context and understanding. Thank you."

Sameena
"I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Seedsistas Foundation course. What I really loved was that you get to be in contact with the plants and actually create remedies to take home with you and use. I learnt that herbalism is a way of life and that you can create food that can be powerful medicine. We also made 'traditional' herbal medicines such as tinctures, healing oils and balms and learnt the scientific properties of herbs. One of the nicest things I discovered is that working with herbs is a creative and intuitive art as well as a science. You really can take this course as far as you want to go, depending on how much independent study you do. Where ever your interest lies when it comes to herbs, creativity and study, this course allows you to flex your unique skills. The Seedsistas are entertaining, knowledgeable teachers who clearly have a passion for changing the world one student at a time. Best of all, you get to meet and be part of a community of herb lovers through your fellow class mates with bonds that last even after the course is over."

Mollie Lyst
"This apprenticeship has given me the confidence to take the next step on my herbal journey and helped me ground my love of nature into something more tangible that I can share with others. The course had the perfect combination of scientific knowledge and honouring ancient practices and wisdom, as well as whimsical yet powerful witchery. Not only have I learned to identify plants, understand what they have to offer and how to use them, but I am also walking away with new ideas and perspectives on how to interact with nature, the seasons, and universal energy. I feel excited and less overwhelmed by how much there is to learn. This course has been fun, unleashed my creativity, and most importantly connected me with a supportive, like-minded community of beautiful, compassionate people. I am so happy and grateful."

Sara Grant
"This has given me the building blocks to greatly and easily progress on my herbal journey. The ability to learn and research correctly for myself, and the direction and understanding for my learning and practice. I am eternally grateful. I respect the herbs but am no longer scared. Thank you, Kaz and Fi"

Nik
"This course was a great way to reconnect with nature, plants, and people after years of computer-based learning. I enjoyed the magical and emotional elements and spending time in community with other herbal people. It was special to stay within such beautiful, green grounds and to meet the plants throughout all four seasons. Every weekend felt like a reset and a reminder that herbalism is about looking at things holistically and immersing yourself with love, care, and soul."

Suzanne Roland Jones
"When Alchemilla vulgaris chose me on our first weekend together, I did not realize what a journey this herb would take me on. She could not have been a more appropriate companion and teacher for this training and my personal journey through these times. I want to thank Fio Kaz for their expansive and inclusive approach to herbalism and for facilitating my extraordinary meeting with Alchemilla vulgaris and many other companions. With love and heart. PS: Do the training—it’s wonderful!"

Kelly Henry
"I chose this apprenticeship for several reasons. Mainly, the desire to learn about using herbs to support my health, as well as my family’s and friends’ wellbeing. I also wanted something that would push me slightly out of my comfort zone. After doing some research and reading testimonials, I felt this course would definitely do that. I needed the environment it provides—a supportive space where I could grow. I was happy to push myself, but only because I wanted to, not because I felt forced. This course helped me realize I only have to push myself as much as I want to. Immersion in the herbs has been one of the most amazing, uplifting, and transformative experiences I’ve had. I am at my happiest and most authentic when learning about herbs. I really enjoyed the learning process and especially appreciated the blend of practical knowledge and heartfelt connection. Thank you!"

Chris Gooch
"This course is amazing. The teaching is brilliant as we get to experience Kazz and Fiona's passion for the plants and make friends with the plants ourselves by way of sight, touch, taste and intuition.
I'm much more aware of the seasons and what is available when and where. I never buy Vitamin C now - just use good old rosehips (enough to last the year until the next harvest). In fact, my essential oils, plant oils, balms and tinctures are the only medicine chest I need. Perfect."

Kay Fenton
"It helped me to overcome the adversity of a diagnosis of poor health—not just through herbal knowledge, but also through the community, camaraderie, and fellowship."

Kristina Me
"It has taken me on a personal journey that was unexpected. At each stage, I met herbs that gave me exactly what I needed at the time. It taught me how to care for others and, importantly, how to care for myself. Going forward, I’m looking to connect and learn from the plants themselves—learning by heart, rather than just by head. Thank you. Happy."

Cath Palgrave
"I’ve wanted to study herbs and herbal medicine for years. I’d picked up bits and pieces along the way but wanted to go more in-depth. After giving up yet another job, I looked into many courses—including going back to university—but kept coming back to this one. It was more expensive than others, but I really felt it was the right one for me—and I’m completely overjoyed that I followed my gut! It’s been incredibly informative, supportive, friendly, fun, and silly—I’ve looked forward to every weekend. I loved the mix of learning—inside theory, practical herb-finding, homework, and reciting—it was never boring. I especially enjoyed preparing my own presentations and seeing others’, which made me want to describe herbs beyond how they grow and what they do. Coming from a religious background where magic and non-Christian spirituality were frowned upon, this was the right time for me to explore and embrace that side of myself. Thank you for helping me with that journey. I feel so empowered now. I wish I’d taken more time to study and create my own book but am prioritizing as I go. I’m so glad I did this; normally, I feel sad at the end, but I feel ready to do more. I’ve made friends too, which is always excellent. Thank you, lovely people. God bless and all the best. Happy."

Kris
“I found the Seed Sistas to be the most loving, patient, knowledgeable and skilled people I have ever met. They inspire me to be a completely better and more thriving version of myself. They are vivacious and infectious in their approach and zest for life, living both honorably and ecstatically, and I simply wanted to spend as much time with them as I could. I have finished the apprenticeship being completely empowered to control and navigate the course of my health. I have come to a deep understanding and love for my body, and its interconnectedness with the amazing life and natural world around me. Every day now in someway revolves around herbs. Every part of my routine is connected to them. Every journey is filled with greeting old and new friends, the herbs, and connecting them to the loved ones and clients in my life."

Sheila Jolly
"It has opened me to the potential of working with plants, and introduced me to like-minded people and experienced herbalists. It has grounded me and encouraged me to push onwards to reach more of my potential for personal growth. I’ve always loved being outside with plants, and this course has helped me focus directly on that abiding interest. Thank you. Happy"

Marian Curtis
"I am in love with the plant world. One of the many benefits of my Sensory Herbalism course was that it pushed my creative boundaries. When studying a plant we are often asked to describe their character as though they were a person. I find this quite challenging at times but a great way to really understand the plant."

Trish Cormack
"This course has, first and foremost, given me the confidence to work with herbs in my life. It has also sparked a deep desire to engage with plants on a much deeper level. What I've learned and experienced over the past year provides a strong base from which to go further and deeper. I’m so grateful for the love and generosity of spirit that you both bring to your teaching. You hold us and the plants beautifully, creating a truly safe space where we can be ourselves and be curious. I also love your sense of humour and the wonderful mix of science and spirit you bring to this work."

Lynda Conrad
"Beautifully held—with warmth and humour and an ease that belies the preparation and care Kaz and Fi have put in. I had wanted to do this course for years and am so glad I took the plunge. Though I am at the end, it’s also a new beginning. I have a new relationship with herbs, other wonderful people on the course, and magic. I feel inspired and grounded with a fabulous introduction to the sensory way with herbs. More than this—a way of being has been modeled for me by Kaz and Fi. Something deep inside has responded too. This is the path of transformation with love. I heartily recommend the Sensory Apprenticeship—there’s no time like the present."

Sarah Rowlet
"It has felt intentional. I’ve always felt a deep connection to the Earth, but I didn’t know how to integrate this passion and value practically into my life. My path has been quite mainstream and has not integrated nature-based approaches. When I started working in the NHS two years ago, I felt a need for connected training that could support my process. Inspired by a Seed Sista’s interview (William Bloom), I took a leap into the unknown. I was drawn to the energy and depth behind the apprenticeship. I feel like such a baby herbalist, excited but aware that I have much to learn. I feel lifted and aligned, and although I don’t come from a background with passed-down knowledge, I am drawn to the plant world. Veils are lifting as I begin to see my own path more clearly."

Denise Newey
"It has given me the knowledge and confidence to work with herbs. So much fun and laughter. Creating my herbal medicine has been game-changing in my understanding of the herbs and plants around me. I don’t need to know the uses of hundreds of herbs, just hundreds of uses for the herbs and plants around me."
